Texas-Wildflowers-Bluebonnets-Sunset-spring2012_26.jpgIt’s Spring.  Here in Texas that means sunshine, bluebonnets, hail, rain and barbecue. It’s fantastic.  It is also the perfect time to indulge in a delicious cocktail from Reyka Vodka as you watch the most glorious sunsets that I’ve ever seen.

1 part fresh lime juice

¾ part simple syrup (1:1)

4-6 Mint leaves

Combine all ingredients together in cocktail shaker and double strain and serve.

In case, you are unfamiliar with Reyka Vodka.  It’s an Icelandic brand that delicious, mixed or not. It has a smooth, clean taste most likely due to the use of lava rocks in the natural filtration process.  Locally, it is available at Spec’s and other liquor retailers.  For more information, visit www.reyka.com.
